How long does residency take?
Processing times are set by the public agencies and vary by route and nationality — which is why we don't publish timelines that don't depend on us. What you do get: an estimated timeline for your case, in writing, in the initial assessment, and notice at every step of the file.
Which documents do I need?
A valid passport, birth certificate, a recently issued criminal record certificate from the country where you lived over the last 5 years, and civil status certificate where applicable — all apostilled. Brazilian documents in Portuguese: no translation needed before Migraciones. We confirm the exact list for your case in the first consultation, free of charge.
How many times do I have to travel?
The filing before Migraciones is done in person, so at least one trip is required. We coordinate the agenda so a single short trip is enough: local clearances, filing and biometrics on consecutive days. Afterwards, if you have already flown home, we follow the file under a power of attorney.
How much does it cost in total?
Every case is quoted privately: write to us on WhatsApp and you receive a single all-inclusive quote in writing before you commit — it covers professional fees, government fees, notary costs and every filing. Only apostilles in your home country and translations, where needed, are separate. No surprise costs.
When do I receive the cédula?
The cédula is issued by Identificaciones once residency is granted — but enrolment (photo, biometrics and signatures) can be completed during your same stay. We handle collection and delivery, with no need to come back.
Can you guarantee approval?
The final decision rests with Migraciones and with each bank; no one can guarantee it. What we do control: that your file enters complete and correct — which is what prevents rejections and delays in practice.
Why do banks turn foreigners away?
Almost always for one of three reasons — and all three can be worked on. The first and most frequent: undocumented source of funds. The bank wants to see where your money and your wealth come from — tax returns from your country, statements, deeds, contracts — and that file is built before you walk into the bank, not at the counter. The second: asking for a personal account without a Paraguayan cédula; without it, an opening is close to impossible in practice — which is why the account comes after residency, not before. The third surprises many: a freshly issued cédula takes a few days to appear in the banks' systems — reported practice, confirmed at the branch — so the interview is scheduled once the bank can actually see it. We build the file with you, choose the bank and branch for your profile, and sit next to you at the interview. The final decision belongs to each bank; what we control is that you arrive with everything they will ask for.
Do I stop paying taxes in my home country?
Not automatically — and be wary of anyone who says otherwise. Migration residency and tax residency are two different things: Paraguay does not tax your foreign-source income, but your home country only stops taxing you if you exit its system properly, and that is planned with a tax adviser there. We handle the Paraguayan side; your tax adviser handles your country's — and we tell you honestly which part doesn't depend on Paraguay.
Is residency by investment really direct?
Yes: the Investor Pass (Res. MIC 0283/2026) grants permanent residency without the temporary stage, with a 10-year cédula. The investment must be executed or verifiably in execution, and the plan is monitored — it is residency for real investors. Eligibility and granting are decided by SUACE and Migraciones; we prepare the file so it arrives impeccable.
Is my family included in the investment?
Yes: your spouse and minor children are included under a single investment. Investors who are not immediate family each make their own qualifying amount. And the status is kept with one day of presence in the country every three years.
What if I don't want to invest?
The classic route remains intact: temporary residency for two years, no investment required, converting to permanent once the requirements are met — with the presence calendar planned properly from the start. It is the most used route, and we assess it the same way: free of charge and in writing.
Can I do the process myself, without a lawyer?
Yes — the law does not require you to hire anyone, and some steps only you can do (your apostilles, your criminal records). What you hire us for is something else: the right choice of route, a file that enters correctly the first time, someone who answers at every office, and follow-up to the end. We tell you from the start what you can do yourself and what is worth leaving to us.
